What an exciting week its been here! The AirCut has gotten so much good press since we started, and we are grateful for all of it, but nothing prepared us for what happened on Wednesday morning.
For those of you who don’t know, The Style Network has a reality television show called “Jerseylicious” which features the day-to-day lives of stylists at a hair salon. Since these folks are known for giving honest, no-holds-barred opinions of life, love and hair, Rachael Ray’s television show decided to give each one of the cast members hair gadgets to try and then featured their reviews on her show in a segment called “Human Lab”. Anthony, whom the Jerseylicious website describes as a “straight, married hairstylist [who] first got into the beauty business to meet girls”, had the honor of receiving the AirCut.
Full disclosure, neither owner Norm nor I have not seen every episode of Rachael Ray’s show or Jerseylicious because Norm likes to focus on business, and I prefer CSI and Criminal Minds. We did not pay anyone on either show to feature our product, and at first we weren’t even 100% sure how they heard about us. I knew enough, though, to know that Rachael wants honesty for her products and Anthony was as about as honest as television gets. The marketer in me panicked at the thought of the AirCut getting panned unfairly, even though the eternal optimist in me knew the product would perform.
It turned out that Anthony loved the product! Rachel declared it a “home run”, and we all did a little dance. This was our first major television coverage and it felt great! Not only that, but as the day went on, the orders poured in. I have to thank Anthony and Rachael Ray and her people in this post for helping our great product get great attention, even as I type this, we are still seeing residual orders from the show. With all of my focus day-to-day on social media, its amazing how much power a little television publicity still wields.
Don’t worry! We still have plenty of stock of AirCuts here in the warehouse and free shipping is still going on, so if you want your own perfect haircut, or even just want to play Jerseylicious at home, stop by the site to buy your own and I’ll ship you one.
Until next time!~Russ
